Guess Who?

Guess who’s back? Back again? Ola’s back. Tell a friend! Guess who’s back? Guess who’s back? Guess who’s back? Lalalala

I am officially back to my blogging. My sincere apologies for not posting anything for the past 1.5 months. I know you all missed reading about my adventures in good ol’ Europe so I figured I should probably update you on my life. To make it easier for some people <cough>Ditsch<cough> I will be writing everything in bullet points.

School- This is the reason why I have not been around since I got back from Christmas break. School has picked up quite a bit these past few weeks and we now have even more classes than before. I have racked in so many hours at the library that I now know the shifts of the coat check lady. And yes, we have to check out coats…once again sort of like at the clubs. So far I had four exams and have two more left before semester break (see below). I dominated the anatomy exam and needless to say celebrated my accomplishments the proper way later that night. Booooo yaaaa! Here is the checklist of exams completed and exams to be completed:
Dominated: Health Care Promotion, Anatomy, Medical Biology, Physiology
Preparing to Dominate: Biophysics and Physiology Lab

Semester Break- Guess who is coming to visit me in less than one week?!?!?! Lauren, Theresa, Katie and Jill will be joining me on my adventures through the streets of Polska. Here is a breakdown of their trip to Europe: We meet in Krakow on Friday afternoon where we will make a scene at the airport screaming, “Oh my God!”, “I missed you so much!” and “I can’t believe we’re in Poland together!”. We will be in Krakow for four days, and then we will fly to Poznan where we will spend three days shopping. As for the last three days of their trip, we will take the train to Berlin. The girls will fly out of Berlin and I will take a sad train ride back to Poznan. On the other hand, I am sooooo excited that they’re coming to visit me! It is a much needed reunion and pictures will be posted as soon as possible. The only part that makes us all sad is that Kayla won’t be there L but that just means that Kayla will have to embark on a Polska adventure sometime in the future!

Trip to Pulawy- I was able to go visit my family in Pulawy (5.5 hour train ride). This time I did not reserve a seat because I thought “Who is going to be taking the train at this hour anyways? Right?” Absolutely wrong. Everyone and their mom was on that train. And I mean, everyone. For about one hour I stood in the exit right next to the bathroom- yes you read that correctly, right next to the bathroom. I was fortunate enough to get pushed into the hallway of the train after that first hour where I met some of the most hilarious people. Get ready for this- a future priest, retired secretary, economist and first year architect student. Needless to say, it was the fastest train ride of my life. Between telling life stories, discussing America and cracking jokes, the time flew by soooo quickly that I almost missed my stop. I was so excited to see my family in Pulawy since I hadn’t seen them since my parents visited beginning of November. Most importantly, I was excited to see my little goddaughter, Zosia and the other baby in the family Adas. It was Zosia’s first birthday and I’m pretty sure she knew it. She was strutting her stuff at her birthday party and opening presents like it was her job. Here are a few pictures! Enjoy!

Robert and I at Zosia's birthday party...I wonder who was having more fun?

What Have I Been Up To- Ever since I got back to Poznan, I have literally lived in the library so I haven’t really been able to do anything too exciting. My friend Fil and I had a phase of making dinner every night for two weeks, but realized it takes a lot of time. And since all we really know how to make are chicken tenders and burritos, after two weeks you sort of get tired of eating those two things. So now we have started to explore the city a bit more and have been going out to eat to hole-in-the-wall restaurants which have surprisingly proved to be much more budget friendly options. Also, my friend Katie Schaff from my sorority was able to come visit me last weekend which was a great way to relax from a stressful week. We went sightseeing and I showed her the nightlife here in Poznan and she got to meet all my friends which I was excited about. Other than that, it’s been pretty “same old, same old” around here.

Running- Ohhhh man. Running. You know how sometimes you decide to do something thinking that it won’t be that bad when you actually have to do it. Well let’s just say that the marathon was one of them. Ha! I have been doing very well with my training and love having a set workout schedule every day. It’s starting to get a bit boring, however because of two things. Reason #1: I don’t have my partner in crime to run with! Shout out to Katie! Reason #2: Running 13 miles on the treadmill gets kind of boring. Either way, I will continue training because let’s be honest, I have less than 2 months until this thing. The lucky day is April 10th in Milan, Italy. I think that’s the part that I’m most excited about- Milan. I will be sure to take lots of pictures when I’m there- don’t worry!

Norwegians- Thought that topic title would get you reading. I would like to officially welcome my Norwegian friends from my program to my blog. They have been on my you-know-what for quite some time trying to figure out how to find my blog. And when I say they tried to figure it out, I mean they reallllyyyy tried everything from google to LinkedIn to Twitter to intense stalking on facebook. So in honor of their efforts, I decided to allow them to read my blog haha. Speaking of Norway and the Norwegians, I must say that after hanging out with them quite a bit, I decided that Norway is going on my "list of countries to visit". That's right, you read that correctly- I want to go to Norway. All my friends always go on rants about how it's an amazing country with beautiful this and one-of-a-kind that, so I figure- why not?

Hope that sums up a little bit of the past 1.5 months. Next blog: "The Girls" do Europe! Oh and Happy Valentine's Day!
XOXO
