U-S-A! U-S-A!

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to write a new post if I'm not in Poland, but it's something that needs to happen because I HAVE to tell you about my arrival back to the wonderful US of A although most of you probably know about it.

So let me start with the following...I almost missed my flight. Yes. You read that correctly. I almost missed my flight. I woke up at 8:07am for my 9:00am flight. I don't really know how this happened, but by 8:30am I had my bags checked and went through security. It was one of the most adrenaline pumped experiences of my entire life and I never want to go through that again. Fortunately, I ran into a friend that was also going to Chicago, so I was able to spill my story to her about how I almost missed my flight. The flight to Chicago was the longest flight in the entire world, but the extra leg room that I had definitely helped. I sat in the seat right behind business class, so I had plenty of room to move around and even got to stretch on the floor in front of me. Once I arrived at O'Hare airport, I felt right at home, mostly because the line to get through customs was one of those that wrapped around about 15 times. It reminded me of the lines at Six Flags and after 45 minutes, I finally got through, grabbed my bag and stepped out to the dozens of families waiting for their loved ones to step out from the chaos of customs. After searching and searching for my parents, I finally found good ol' Hanna and Marek and a red, white and blue "welcome home" balloon they were holding. I was so excited to see them, I was on the verge of tears. They took me to the side and Tata kept hugging me and hugging me and after awhile I didn't know what his deal was. I mean I was very excited to see him too, but hugging for 2 minutes straight, that was sort of pushing it hahaha. Then, when they turned me around (apparently I was poked a few times, but didn't get it at all), there they were- Katie and Jill in the middle of the airport. Naturally, I cried and screamed and was so confused and jumped and informed them I didn't shower. I had NO idea what was going on and most importantly I was SOOOOOO surprised. I mean, really? How did they plan all of this without me figuring it out?! Needless to say, I have never been so surprised and I absolutely LOVED every minute of it. So in this part of my post, I would just like to thank my parents and my girls for a fantastic weekend- you guys are honestly THE BEST!

Until next time!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
